Britain’s Georgia Davies took gold in the 50m backstroke at the European Championships in Glasgow, with the men’s 4x200m freestyle team also triumphing to cap an impressive day in the pool.
The 27-year-old backed up her European record in the heats to take victory in 27.23 seconds, just 0.08s ahead of Russia’s Anastasia Fesikova. Finland’s Mimosa Jallow took bronze.
It was his first individual title at the championships, having finished second at Berlin 2014 (50m and 100m backstroke) and third at London 2016 (50m backstroke).
And within an hour, GB were celebrating a second gold medal as the quartet Callum Jarvis, Duncan Scott, Thomas Dean and James Guy secured victory in the relay.
It was Scott’s second medal of a busy Sunday after the double Olympic medallist claimed silver in the 100m freestyle behind Italy’s Alessandro Miressi.
