Ajax have rejected a €50million bid from Monaco from Kasper Dolberg, according to a report in the Netherlands.

Following the sale of Davinson Sanchez to Tottenham, for a fee that could rise to £42million, the Amsterdam club will be tested in their ability to hold on to another one of their stars, Telesport reports.
With PSG on the verge of sealing a move for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, it means the Principality club would need to find a replacement, and would have the necessary funds available.
But the Ajax management have apparently rejected the initial approach for their 19-year-old who scored 23 goals in all competitions last season as his side reached the Europa League final.
Dolberg has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks.

This story seems a case of connecting the dots. Monaco are soon to have a wedge of (more) cash, so who might they buy with it? The logical answer is Dolberg – a young striker who would fit in to the youth policy at Monaco.

But the story doesn’t really have any solid sources it seems. Dolberg also said last month: "It might be somewhat strange in modern day football, where everyone appears to be for sale, but [director of football Marc] Overmars made a statement with his comment that I am not for sale. And I am fine with it. I want to stay and will not be leaving."

Sure, everyone has their price, as we saw with Neymar, but with Ajax not wanting to lose another top player, and the striker himself not wanting to leave, it would have to be an extremely hefty sum.
