Canadian wildcard Bianca Andreescu claimed another shock win as she defeated world number six Elina Svitolina to advance to the final of the BNP Paribas Open.
The 18-year-old upset the sixth seed 6-3 2-6 6-4 to become the first wildcard to reach the final at Indian Wells.
Andreescu bypassed her second top 10 player of the year in a back-and-forth match that saw the teenager get off to a nervy start.
Svitolina raced to a 3-0 lead before Andreescu found her form to win six straight games and the first set.
Her seven-game winning run came to end at the start of the second as the pair traded breaks and Svitolina took advantage to level the match as Andreescu struggled with unforced errors.
Andreescu kept up the momentum in the decider, however, saving nine out of 10 break points and wrapped up the win after two hours and 12 minutes.
She goes on to face Angelique Kerber, the eighth seed, after the German beat Belinda Bencic, who earlier in the week knocked out world number one and defending champion Naomi Osaka.
Three-time major champion Kerber secured a 6-4 6-2 victory in just over an hour, setting up her first Indian Wells final.
