The Scot discussed his recovery during a wide-ranging Twitter question and answer session.
Struggling with jet lag following his flight home from Australia, Andy Murray held a middle of the night question and answer session on Twitter on subjects ranging from his recovery from hip surgery to his views on Vegemite.
The former world number one went under the knife in Melbourne nearly two weeks ago and reported positive news on his rehabilitation, saying it was going “Really well. Much better than I expected so far.”
The Scot, who is hoping to be back for the grass-court season, went against the prevailing view in men’s tennis by saying he would be happy to try moving to best-of-three sets at grand slams while he also revealed he is hoping to become an individual coach in the future.
Murray has set up a management company to mentor young sporting talent, including tennis players Aidan McHugh and Katie Swan, but sees himself going back on the tour at some point.
Murray also revealed he is planning to go vegan after the end of his playing career having experimented with a gluten-free diet in the past but described Australian spread Vegemite as “rancid”.
The boxing fan gave his backing to Anthony Joshua ahead of his heavyweight clash with Joseph Parker in March and tipped Australia’s Ashleigh Barty as the player he is most excited about in the women’s game.
