Del Potro, who is currently competing in the China Open, said: "Obviously, we are tired. Is not easy to come and play in Asia at this time - but the tournaments are great. We love to be here."
The Argentine, who is ranked no.4 in the world, faces a trip to London next month for the ATP finals and said: "If you play London, it's going to be a long season for me. But in the end, we are eight players in the same situation, which the schedule could be the difference between us."
However, the 30-year-old said he was happy to have made it to the tournament for the first time in five years and added: "It will be amazing for me."
Del Potro will face Nikoloz Basilashvili in the China Open final on Sunday.
