Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares suffer defeat in Doha final

Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares failed to get their 2018 off to the perfect start as they suffered defeat in the final of the ATP Doha.

Murray and Soares were defeated 6-2, 7-6(6) by Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic on Friday, with the victors winning their second title as a pair.
They have only been a duo since March 2017 and it was Murray and Soares who defeated them when they reached their first final in Stuttgart. that year.
“We played the whole week really great tennis,” Marach said afterwards. “Especially for me it was very important. I didn’t know how I would play because I had not a great winter, I was injured. Then I came here just three or four practices and if you look at that, that we’re now the winners here, it’s amazing.”
The second seeds dominated as they won without dropping a set in Doha.
“It’s one of my favourite tournaments at the beginning of the year and we had a great week,” Pavic added. “From the beginning on we were playing just better and better and today was a great match.”
Murray and Soares struggled for fluency and the Brazilian in the particular failed to get his serve away regularly.
