DJOKOVIC 1-3 RUUD. Casper maintains his momentum with a plucky hold. A clutch backhand pass and a devilish touch at the net prove key as he’s able to shrug off a double fault and edge the game to 30.

DJOKOVIC 1-2 RUUD. No dramas on this occasion. Djokovic finds his first serve and blitzes through a very strong love hold to get on the board.

DJOKOVIC 0-2 RUUD. The Norwegian consolidates as Nole sizzles a return long. The No.8 seed produced a brilliant overhead smash while back pedalling at 30-30 to ensure his bright start got its reward.

BREAK! – DJOKOVIC 0-1 RUUD. Wow! Who was expecting that? It looks like business as usual when the Serbinator produces a wonderful lob-drop volley combo to ease into a 30-0 lead. However, Ruud’s forehand then decided to come to the party to turn the tide and a sizzling crosscourt winner earned him an immediate break point. Djokovic stumbled mid-point but somehow managed to keep it going before being undone by a backhand into the net. The world number one paid the price for a lack of first serves there.
