Tsitsipas wants a short on-court interview so Courier promises it’ll be quick…
“I’m speechless. I have no words to describe what just happened out on court. My tennis speaks for itself. It’s an unbelievable feeling to be able to fight at such a level. Today’s performance, I started nervous, I don’t know what happened. I flied like a little bird, everything was working for me. The emotions at the end are indescribable.
“Holding my nerves is important having failed to do so in some of my matches. I would give a big part of my win to being consistent with my mood and staying calm. I was just trying to keep everything to myself. It is something I’m really happy with, the attitude I showed out on court.”
Facing Medvedev next…
“He’s an opponent that plays really well, had a lot of consecutive wins. He’s in great shape, I won’t lie. I need to recover, take a good ice bath, I know he’ll give me a difficult time. Each single match I get to play is a blessing.”
Playing in front of fans again...
“Finally, it’s an amazing feeling.”

TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 7-5 NADAL: Oh, Nadal! He wasn’t sure whether to come forward or not and he sends a forehand volley into the net! It’s a third match point for Tsitsipas… and this time he does it with a forehand winner!! What a moment, what a win. After four hours and five minutes Tsitsipas has battled from two sets down to beat Nadal and reach the semi-finals!

TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *6-5 NADAL: My word… now Tsitsipas goes long again and Nadal has a break point… He hasn’t broken him for well over two hours, and a huuuuge serve from Tsitsipas takes it back to deuce.
12:50
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *6-5 NADAL: A second match point now for Tsitsipas after a winner wrong-foots Nadal… Can he do it this time? No! What a return from Nadal……. To deuce again!
12:49
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *6-5 NADAL: Unreturned serve and on the four-hour mark it’s a first match point for Tsitsipas. WOW. I held my breath for that whole point, SO nervy… but it’s Tsitsipas who goes long and suddenly it’s deuce……..
12:48
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *6-5 NADAL: From 0-30 Nadal is so close with a forehand down the line, but it’s wide. Make that 15-30, and an ace from the fifth seed makes it 30-30…
12:47
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *6-5 NADAL: A mishit from Tsitsipas makes it 0-15… Not the best start when you’re serving for the match. HUGE defence from Rafa and suddenly Tsitsipas sends a routine forehand into the net! 0-30. Oh the tension…

TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *6-5 NADAL: Uh oh… All of a sudden Nadal is 0-30 down on serve, and then a backhand into the net makes it THREE BREAK POINTS to Tsitsipas. Nadal goes wide and Tsitsipas converts the first! The fifth seed will now serve for the match.
12:41
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 5-5* NADAL: Tsitsipas goes 15-0 up but an attempted drop shot then leads to a wayward backhand and it’s 15-15. Nadal can’t return the next two serves though and it’s 40-15. Tsitsipas then goes long but holds a point later with a fine forehand winner.
12:37
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *4-5 NADAL: Rafa roars as a hold to love makes it 5-4. This is where it starts to get nervy! Tsitsipas now serving to stay in the match.
12:34
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 4-4* NADAL: Tsitsipas not hanging around on serve, and this time it’s a hold to 15 which helps him level at 4-4. Difficult to call still!
12:30
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *3-4 NADAL: WHAT a get that is from Nadal, and what a point that was to win and move 40-15 in front. Sublime volley, and he goes on to hold to 30. Entering the business-end of this final set! Still on serve.
12:26
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 3-3* NADAL: Wow, a 54-second game from Tsitsipas. Four aces, you can’t get much better than that!
12:23
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *2-3 NADAL: A couple of stunning winners from Tsitsipas but that’s mainly because he’s going for broke with Nadal a point away from holding, which he does with an ace! Nadal has certainly raised his level again on serve, but he hasn’t had a break point opportunity himself since midway through the second set.
12:17
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 2-2* NADAL: Reading that Nadal is 223-1 in Grand Slams when winning the opening two sets, his only loss coming to Fabio Fognini at the 2015 US Open. Tsitsipas, out to make that statistic 223-2, holds to 15 to level up.
12:13
Delighted.
12:12
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *1-2 NADAL: Nadal makes it known that he won’t be broken so easily in this set. After he was tested a few times and eventually broken in the fourth, he secures a love hold here to nudge in front once more.
12:10
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 1-1* NADAL: Tsitsipas of course is up for this, and he holds to 15. Three hours and 20 minutes into the match, who will crack first, who will tire first, who will pounce on their first break point opportunity – you cannot take your eyes off it.
12:05
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 *0-1 NADAL: No surprise Nadal went off for a comfort break between sets. He just needs to press the reset button and rediscover the form that helped him storm to a two-set lead. Tsitsipas meanwhile was prowling the court awaiting his opponent, and as Nadal gets this decider under way the Spaniard secures a morale-boosting hold to 30.
11:59
TSITSIPAS 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 0-0* NADAL: Because Rafa is Rafa it would be foolish to rule him out, but the momentum is certainly behind Tsitsipas for sure. If you’re not doing so already, stick on Eurosport and watch this decider unfold!
