WHEN AND WHERE IS THE MATCH?

8:30 UK time on Thursday 28 January, at the Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park, Australia.
You can watch it live and exclusively on Eurosport Player and Eurosport TV - full details below.

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Number one seed Novak Djokovic bids to reach his 16th final in the last 21 Grand Slam tournaments - in his way is a familiar foe, Roger Federer.
The last time this pair met in a Grand Slam was the 2015 US Open final, where Djokovic prevailed in four set despite an astonishingly partisan Flushing Meadows crowd cheering Federer's every move.
The Serbian has been a champion four times in Melbourne, but expect the crowd to back his nemesis as he aims for an 18th Grand Slam title.

HEAD TO HEAD

Novak Djokovic 22-22 Roger Federer
The rivalry is dead even - but Djokovic has won five of the last seven meetings, and their last three at Grand Slams.

WHAT THEY SAID

Novak Djokovic: It's obvious that (Federer) is a very complete player. He's trying lately to come to the net more, kind of shorten up the rallies. I mean, he definitely has the game for that. He's got a great variation from the backhand side with the slice, short slice. He's got great defense, amazing offense. He's very complete. He puts constant pressure on the opponent. You have to be aware at all times. You got to be tough. You got to be concentrated.
Roger Federer: Looking at the stats (coming to the net seems like) an easy thing. I do feel really good at net since a few years now. It’s where it all sort of started for me when I came on Tour. I know how it works up there. I still think there’s room of improvement. Every player manages to defend or pass it differently.
