Caroline Wozniacki reaches quarter-finals
Caroline Wozniacki’s hunt for a maiden Grand Slam title continued with a 6-3 6-0 win over Slovakia’s Magdalena Rybarikova in the Australian Open fourth round.
The Dane, a former world number one yet to taste victory in a Major, was in scintillating form on Rod Laver Arena as she raced through in 64 minutes.
She will face Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro in the last eight.
"I think you can tell my confidence is pretty good, I was pretty proud of that," Wozniacki said of a tweener she played.
"I've tried a few in practice but usually make a fool out of myself."
The 27-year-old is one of the form players in the women’s draw, winning the WTA Finals in October before kick-starting her 2018 by reaching the Auckland Open final.
