US Open champion Naomi Osaka was just a little bit starstruck as she took to the practice courts in Brisbane alongside former world number one Sir Andy Murray.

The pair took to social media straight afterwards to share a photo.

The 20-year-old captioned hers: "I don't know why you let me hit with you but thank you!"

Murray's post revealed a little more about why he chose Osaka to hit with, though, as he wrote: "Thanks for the hit today...I think you missed about 2 balls in 30 minutes."

Both players are in Australia for next week's Brisbane Open as they prepare for the first Grand Slam of 2019, the Australian Open, which begins in Melbourne on January 14.

Murray is unseeded at the event as he continues his recovery from hip surgery.
