A magnificent weekend for Edmund and GB who won a World Group tie in the Davis Cup without Andy Murray for the first time in 30 years!

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - EDMUND 6-3 6-4 7-6 LAJOVIC. GB are into the semi finals! Kyle Edmund is the hero, securing an unassailable 3-1 win in the tie. The 21-year-old Yorkshireman takes on the mantle of the team's main man in the absence of Andy Murray, winning both of his singles rubbers in straight sets. This one was the most impressive against a player ranked just 14 places below him in front of fervent home crowd. The Brit was broken as he served for the match but recovered from 4-2 down in the TB to take it 7-5 and secure a semi final clash with Argentina on home soil.

TIE BREAK! - EDMUND 6-3 6-4 6-6 LAJOVIC. What a monumental battle for Kyle. The Brit is under real pressure and faces two set points before coming through a lengthy game to reach a TB. A very different vibe about this match now but the Brit does still have hope of finishing it off in three sets if he can make a solid start in the TB.

EDMUND 6-3 6-4 5-6 LAJOVIC. This match could be about to turn. GB looked all set for the semis but Lajovic suddenly has a second wind and the crowd are pumped up. The Serb breezes to a hold to 15. Huge pressure back on Kyle now as he tries to hold to force a TB.

BREAK! - EDMUND 6-3 6-4 5-5 LAJOVIC. Serbia have a lifeline! Edmund is broken for the first time as he attempted to serve out the match. The Brit looked in the driving seat at 30-15 but began to tighten up. Lajovic went for broke and managed to move level with only his second BP of the whole contest. Kyle needs to dig deep now and re-focus. No point dwelling on it.

Everyone with their fingers crossed for Kyle...

EDMUND 6-3 6-4 5-4 LAJOVIC. The Serb asks the serve it out question of Edmund with a quickfire hold to love. Now, can Kyle keep his nerve. He's been cool and composed throughout but it's tantalisingly close here...

EDMUND 6-3 6-4 5-3 LAJOVIC. GB consolidate but Edmund gets a lot of help from his opponent. Lajovic dictates the opening point but produces a woeful dropshot to let GB Kyle off the hook. A wild forehand gives GB some breathing space and Kyle relaxes to claim a superb love hold. He's one game away from being a big hero and sending GB into the last four.

BREAK! - EDMUND 6-3 6-4 4-3 LAJOVIC. GB getting close now! Edmund takes control with a forehand to the corner and a crosscourt missile before Lajovic lashes a backhand long to tee up two BPs. The Brit wastes both but gets a third bite at it with an angled volley at the net. Lajovic has pulled off a number of escapes at different moments today, but not this time as he can only prod into the net under major pressure to hand GB the advantage in the third set. Over to Kyle to back it up and edge oh so near to the semi finals...

No doubt about it!

EDMUND 6-3 6-4 3-3 LAJOVIC. Majestic stuff from Kyle. The Brit takes his tally to 20 forehand winners with two belters to get up and running. A huge serve puts him well in control before surviving a mini revival from Lajovic to move level with a game to 30.

EDMUND 6-3 6-4 2-3 LAJOVIC. Frustration for Edmund. The Brit lashes the same crosscourt forehand winner that has done so much damage today to snare a BP. Lajovic somehow survives with a stunning volley on the stretch following the rally of the match to make deuce. The Serb gets a huge amount of fortune via a net cord that just about bobbles in and secures a massive hold with a forehand to the far corner. Edmund gutted. He thought he had the break there.

EDMUND 6-3 6-4 2-2 LAJOVIC. The forehand is working as well as ever. Edmund crunches the big shots to ease to a hold to 15. It's close in the early stages of this third set.
