Davis Cup to become World Cup-style event after vote passed at ITF AGM

A massive overhaul of the Davis Cup has been approved after votes from tennis federations from across the world breached the 66% threshold needed for approval.
The vote was put to the federations at the International Tennis Federation AGM in Orlando on Thursday and 71% of the votes were in favour of transforming the 118-year-old competition.
The changes will see the Davis Cup become a World Cup-style event with 18 countries competing in an event at the end of the year.
The LTA had said it would vote against the measure.
