Kyle Edmund reached the second round of the French Open for the second time after beating Georgian qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili in four sets.
The Briton, who was in the Davis Cup team that won the title against Belgium last year, came through a tight first three sets to win 7-6 6-7 7-5 6-1.
It is the second straight year in which Edmund, 21, has reached the second round.
The Yorkshireman completed victory in two hours and 47 minutes with darkness closing in, throwing down an impressive 16 aces to throttle his opponent.
He will now face either John Isner, the No 15 seed, or John Millman in the next round.
