PARIS, FRANCE - MAY 28: Daniel Evans of Great Britain reacts during the mens singles first round match against Tommy Robredo of Spain on day one of the 2017 French Open at Roland Garros on May 28, 2017 in Paris, France.
However Robredo quickly found his groove in the following sets and kept his cool, both figuratively and literally as Evans visibly wilted in the sweltering heat.
Highlights: Evans falls to Robredo
As the game progressed Evans' struggles continued with Robredo doing what he needed to do to keep winning games.
The Spaniard sealed the match in the fourth set without too many problems and secured progression to the next round.
The contrast in experience between the pair showed throughout as Evans, on the main draw in Paris for the first time, struggled to break down Robredo, who reached the quarter-finals here five times between 2003 and 2013.
By the end of the match Evans had more unforced errors (44) than he did winners (37)
