Andy Murray looks poised to reach the quarter-finals of the French Open after moving two sets up against American John Isner at Roland Garros.
Murray had to battle through a pulsating tie-break to take the opening set against the big-serving Isner, and displayed plenty of emotion in fending off his opponent to do so.
A single break of serve was sufficient for the second seed to take the second set 6-4 with Isner unable to match his intensity after a rain break.
In very overcast conditions in Paris, Murray now looks set to seal his place in the semi-finals of Roland Garros, where he would face either Richard Gasquet of France or Kei Nishikori.
