MURRAY 6-3 6-2 - GAME, SET & MATCH! Two match points for Murray after an hour and 27 minutes. Lu saves the first as he shows some battling spirit but on the second, he hits one wide and Murray is into the fourth round, where he will play Carlos Berlocq.

-

MURRAY 6-3 5-2 - Murray races to a 40-0 lead before easing off the gas a little, allowing Lu a sniff at 40-30. But that's when the Brit decides to send down a huge serve, which Lu can't return, to move to within a game of the match.

-

MURRAY 6-3 4-2 - BREAK! Murray gets the breakthrough he wanted in the second set after some more loose play from Lu gives the US Open champion three break points. He only needs one chance as Lu hits a forehand tamely into the net.

-

MURRAY 6-3 2-2 - While the last game went for nearly nine minutes, this one takes less than two as Lu makes short work of it. Included in the brief highlights is a glorious drop shot that Murray can only admire from afar.

-

MURRAY 6-3 2-1 - Murray shows some lovely soft hands on a perfectly executed drop shot that has the crowd swooning and the Scot seems to be cruising as he goes 40-0 up. But Lu battles back to force several deuces before Murray finally manages to hold serve.

-

MURRAY 6-3 1-1 - Some loose shotmaking from Lu gives Murray a chance to break early in the second. He saves the break point with a neat move to the net and volley though. And then it's Murray's turn to fire a few baseline shots long, allowing Lu to hold.

-

MURRAY 6-3 1-0 - Murray makes light work of his opening service game in the second set, and you'd think that he'd want to wrap this one up quickly now.

-

MURRAY 6-3 - SET! Oh dear, what a way to end what had been an encouraging set from Lu - a double fault on Murray's advantage gifts the opening stanza to the Scot, who had been worked pretty hard.

-

MURRAY 5-3 - Lu's impressive play over the past few games is rewarded when he brings up two break points. He attacks Murray on the first, heading into the net, but the Scot fires a crosscourt passing shot to save it. And then another similar effort just catches the line and Murray can breathe again. A pair of aces seal the game for the Olympic champion.

-

MURRAY 4-3 - Lu shows what he is capable of once again when, at 30-30, he fires a powerful forehand winner past a flailing Murray. And he follows that up with another sensational forehand on the run to clinch the game! Impressive again.

-

MURRAY 4-2 - Murray consolidates that break as Lu's unforced error count reaches 13. That's a little too high against a player of Murray's quality.

-

MURRAY 3-2 - BREAK! Lu fires a tremendous backhand winner down the line to settle a lengthy rally and bring up two game points. Not at all bad from the world number 79! But he cannot maintain that level as Murray brings up a break point before taking it as some poor shot selection from Lu allows the Scot to deliver a backhand smash winner at the net to seal the game!

-

MURRAY 2-2 - Lu again finds the corner of the court with a backhand winner that Murray can only watch. He then tries another cheeky drop shot but this time Murray is on it swiftly to punch back past him. Lu attacks again though and brings up another break point but Murray aces to snuff out the danger. The Scot goes on to hold.

-

MURRAY 1-2 - Lu backs up his solid performance in that opening game with another hold. He seems to be controlling whatever nerves he might have had heading onto centre court so far. Murray yet to really fire up yet.

-

MURRAY 1-1 - Bit of trouble for Murray here as he sends a tame effort into the net to fall 15-40 down. He's not happy with himself and he slams his fist into the strings of his racquet in frustration. He saves both break points though, the second with an ace. And the comeback is completed when Lu hits the net a point later.

-

MURRAY 0-1 - Excellent start by Lu as he holds his own to get to game point at 40-30. He then draws Murray into the net with a drop shot. The Scot gets there but Lu simply lobs the ball back over his head and it lands perfectly in the corner of the court!

-

MURRAY 0-0 - So, here we go then. The man from Chinese Taipei to serve first.

-

Here comes Murray, to a decent reception from the half-empty stadium. Less than half-empty actually - it's a pretty poor turn-out for the US Open champion. The Scot wins the toss and elects to receive first.

-

Murray had to recover from a set down to win his opener on Sunday against Evgeny Donskoy, 5-7 6-2 6-2. In winning that match he avoided being dumped out from the second round here for the third year in succession.

-

Lu is looking to reach the final 16 of an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event for the second time. As a qualifier he reached the final 16 in Toronto back in 2010.

-

It’s been nearly five years since Lu of Chinese Taipei upset Murray in the first round of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This is their second career meeting.

-

The next match on Stadium 1 and the final ATP clash of the day sees third seed Andy Murray take on Yen-Hsun Lu in their third-round match. Murray will be expected to progress very comfortably, but the Brit has not had things all his own way of late.
