DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) 6-2 - GAME, SET & MATCH! Del Potro fires down an ace to reach 30-0 before a ferocious forehand brings up three match points. Istomin cannot return Delpo's next serve over the net and the Argentine finally seals victory! What a match! Delpo moves on to meet Roger Federer, for the fourth time in 2012.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) 5-2 - BREAK! Istomin appears to be cracking here! He falls to 15-40 on his own service game. He saves the first break point with a drive volley but on the next one he can only hit the net! Delpo breaks to move to within a game of the match!

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) 4-2 - Del Potro falters slightly on his way to claiming another game. He's just two away from the match now, but still Istomin refuses to go away.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) 3-2 - No messing about from Istomin here as he wastes no time in securing a held service game. He certainly has fight tonight, the Uzbek.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) 3-1 - Istomin wastes another challenge as Del Potro opens up that two-game lead again. Surely the impetus is with the Argentine now.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) 2-1 - Istomin's not entirely spent yet however, as he holds serve in a hugely important game to pull one back.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) 2-0 - This couldn't be going better for Del Potro so far this set. He seems to have woken up slightly since the last set. Or maybe Istomin's getting tired.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) 1-0 - BREAK! A perfect start to the third set by Del Potro as he breaks Istomin. The Uzbek attempts to challenge the last call in the game, but it's a mile out and he knows it.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-7(6) - SET! Del Potro drops the first two points but roars back to take the next four and assume control at the change of ends. The Argentine then sees yet another net cord go Istomin's way but he responds with a running forehand winner to go 5-3 up. Istomin wins the next point before a sensational - given the timing - drop shot levels things up at 5-5! Delpo then hits one long to give Istomin a set point. He can't take it! But at the next time of asking he does! Into a third!

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-6 - Istomin's got 'cojones', as Del Potro might say in his native Spanish! The Uzbek races to a 40-0 lead and goes on to take the game with the loss of just one point. This set, like the first, will go to a tie-break!

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 6-5 - Del Potro delivers an awful volley into the net to go 30-0 down as this set lurches one way to the other. He recovers though and soon pulls level with an ace. And two points later he edges back into the lead at 6-5. What has Istomin got now?

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 5-5 - BREAK! Istomin comes into the net and finishes off the point with a neat volley to take a 30-0 lead. And then the Uzbek brings up three set points... he wastes the first two before hitting the net on the third! And when Istomin fires one just wide, it's Del Potro who has a chance to break back! But Istomin whips a backhand across court to foil the Argentine! He soon brings up another chance though and this time he gets it as Istomin goes for broke and misses!

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 4-5 - BREAK! Istomin's a bit of a character isn't he? Here he 'heads' the ball towards the net before he brings up two break points with a winner that lands right on the line. Delpo saves the first but on the second the Argentine hits the net and Istomin breaks! And what a time to do so - he'll now serve to level things up at a set-all.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 4-4 - Ooh, there could be trouble for Istomin here as the Uzbek goes long to gift two break opportunities to Del Potro. But credit to Istomin, he saves them both! But a double fault on the next point hands Delpo another chance to break. Again he can't seal it as Istomin moves to the net and smashes home. And he goes on to hold serve. Four apiece and still nothing to separate them this set.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 4-3 - Istomin fires a vicious forehand winner back past Del Potro before an equally delightful backhand beats his opponent all ends up. Delpo then hits one long and the Argentine is facing two break points... he saves the first with a powerful forehand of his own before Istomin goes inches wide from a narrow angle at the net. Delpo's radar is off again on the next point, but Istomin wastes a third break point before a fourth chance goes begging too! And Delpo finally seals his s

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 3-3 - Istomin gets lucky with a net cord at 15-30 down and he duly apologises to Delpo. The Argentine then makes an error and looks like he's about to hammer his racquet into the ground, but he manages to control himself sufficiently and keep his cool. Istomin goes on to hold.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 3-2 - Del Potro responds with a service game of his own as this set continues to go to serve. Nothing to separate them so far - much like the opening part of the first set.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 2-2 - The wind begins to whip up on court but it doesn't distract Istomin as he holds serve to draw back on level terms.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 2-1 - Istomin again shows a nice touch with a drop shot that Delpo gets nowhere near, but the Argentine has already done enough to hold serve. He seals the game with an ace to edge ahead once again.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 1-1 - Istomin shows his skill with a Federer-esque between-the-legs shot, but it's to no avail as Del Potro simply swats it back from the net. The Uzbek goes on to take the game though as Delpo hits one long.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) 1-0 - Del Potro noses in front with a hold of serve at the beginning of the second set. The winner of this match, of course, gets to play Roger Federer for a place in the semi-finals after the Swiss master saw off a brave challenge from Thomaz Bellucci earlier today.

-

DEL POTRO 7-6(2) - SET! Istomin goes for it at 2-5 down, but his forehand lands just out, leaving Delpo with four set point opportunities. The Argentine needs just one as he claims the first set! The most striking stat after that opening stanza is this: Istomin with 21 unforced errors to Delpo's 10.

-

DEL POTRO 6-6 - We're heading into a tie-break as Del Potro holds serve to love! He looked to be cruising to that first set but a lapse of concentration in that one game has opened the door to Istomin.

-

DEL POTRO 5-6 - Istomin's brimming with confidence now and he lands a drop shot to get himself off the mark in this game before he goes on to hold serve. What a turnaround by Istomin! He leads now and it's up to Delpo to keep his cool in this next game to take the first set to a tiebreaker.

-

DEL POTRO 5-5 - BREAK! Delpo aces at a crucial time to level at 30-30 but then, after making a successful challenge on a double fault call, he hits the net following some aggressive play from Istomin. And the Uzbek breaks back as Delpo fires one wide!

-

DEL POTRO 5-4 - Istomin manages to get to game point at 40-30 but a double fault - the first from either player this match - brings up deuce. He recovers though and he finishes off the game with a confident move towards the net.

-

DEL POTRO 5-3 - Del Potro eases to a comfortable service hold and he's now just a game away from the first set.

-

DEL POTRO 4-3 - Istomin shows what he's capable of with a glorious double-handed backhand winner to level at 15-15 but a couple of points later at 30-30, the Uzbek fires into the net. Break point for Delpo... but he can't take it as Istomin hits a great forehand down the line! He goes on to hold and stay alive this set.

-

DEL POTRO 4-2 - Delpo looks ominous all of a sudden. It took a few games for him to get warmed up but now he's really motoring. A crosscourt forehand winner seals a love service game and he opens up a two-game gap.

-

DEL POTRO 3-2 - BREAK! Istomin fires one long and all of a sudden he's facing two break points. He fires another one out at the baseline and Del Potro draws first blood! The Argentine barely had to work for that one, but he'll take it nonetheless!

-

DEL POTRO 2-2 - Boom! Del Potro fires a forehand winner cross-court to go 30-0 up. Istomin responds with one of his own before Delpo moves to the net with a neat volley and bring up game point. Istomin fires a return of serve into the net on the next point and Delpo levels at two apiece.

-

DEL POTRO 1-2 - It's not a huge crowd here to watch this one tonight: not even half full. But Istomin won't be bothered as he records a routine service hold.

-

DEL POTRO 1-1 - No problems for Delpo on his first service game. You really have to marvel at the Argentine's revival after that injury sent him spiralling below the 400-mark in the world rankings. He's back in the top 10, but you get the feeling he's not finished there.

-

DEL POTRO 0-1 - Istomin shows a few signs of nerves early in his first service game, but he composes himself and manages to hold to get things under way.

-

DEL POTRO 0-0 - Del Potro wins the toss and makes Istomin serve first... and we're just about ready to go!

-

"Three minutes, gentlemen" is the call from the umpire and we'll be under way very soon here!
