Germany's Dustin Brown loves social media - and he's using it to keep fans updated with the state of his ankle ligaments, torn on court against Thomaz Bellucci.

He assured fans he was getting better after he rolled his ankle in Sunday's first-round match - but the bruising suggests he is probably still in a bit of pain.

"Not pretty" is an understatement.

He had tweeted the day after the injury that he wished he could be Wolverine - famed for his healing powers and adamantine skeleton.

From the more recent hashtags, though, Brown is still reasonably confident of making the US Open, the final grand slam of the year, which begins at the end of the month.
