The Swiss star already has two sets of twins, nine-year-old girls Myla and Charlene and four-year-old boys Leo and Lenny, which he says is enough for now.
When asked in an interview with Coopzeitung, the 36-year-old made it clear that he was focusing only on his career and his four children for the time being.
"I do not know myself [when my career will end]. That is why it is currently as good as it is. All are happy and relaxed. We enjoy the time with our four children extremely.
This topic [more children] is certainly not yet complete, but we are not going to deal with it until I have finished my career.
Federer has often spoken of how much motivation his four children provide him on Tour and he again reiterated their influence.
"They know I play a lot of tennis, but I'm not sure if they know that - I don't know. They won't know what my ranking would be.
"They wouldn't know what I'm actually maybe trying to do really. They know that there is a trophy involved at some point if I do play well, because they get most excited about the trophies.
"I think probably it would be helpful a few more years for the boys to really remember. The girls, they will always remember at this point, of course. I'm not sure about the boys."
The world number two has withdrawn from the Rogers Cup in Toronto in a bid to lighten his schedule on the hard courts ahead of the US Open.
Federer has triumphed five times at Flushing Meadows and will be seeking his 21st Grand Slam title in New York.
