Good evening and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the Roland Garros men's singles third round match between Dominik Koepfer and Roger Federer. Federer was a bit of an unknown quantity coming into the French Open, but the 20-times Grand Slam champion has been very impressive in the matches he has played so far.

*KOEPFER 4-3 FEDERER (6-7, 7-6)
Narrow margins in that game as Koepfer might have done better in a couple of points, but Federer does enough to hold serve and keep within touching distance of his opponent.

KOEPFER 4-2 FEDERER* (6-7, 7-6)
There's just so much power coming from Koepfer's racquet at the moment. Federer is having to do a lot just to win a point on the German's serve, that's how well he's playing.
22:26
*KOEPFER 3-2 FEDERER (6-7, 7-6)
Some punishing forehands from Federer in that service game. You get the feeling that if the Swiss is to turn around the momentum of this match he'll need to start using that more.

KOEPFER 3-1 FEDERER* (6-7, 7-6)
This is quite simply stunning tennis from Koepfer who holds to love. He is in the zone and there's not much Federer can do about it. The Swiss is being given a real work out!
22:19
*KOEPFER 2-1 FEDERER (6-7, 7-6)
That will make Federer feel a bit better about his game. It's quite clear that the Swiss is trying to shorten some of the points now as he looks for a way back into the match.
22:16
KOEPFER 2-0 FEDERER* (6-7, 7-6)
It's all a bit flat from Federer at the moment as Koepfer consolidates his early break in this third set with a comfortable hold of serve. The Swiss needs to find something more here!
22:13
*KOEPFER 1-0 FEDERER (6-7, 7-6)
Break! Wow! Federer had 40-15 on his service game, but lost a series of points and then on break point the Swiss completely misjudged a lobbed return and it clips the baseline!

22:04
KOEPFER 7-6 (5) FEDERER (6-7)
Second set, Koepfer! Loose from Federer on a number of points in the tie break and Koepfer has levelled up! The German deserves it. He grew in confidence over the course of the set.
21:57
KOEPFER 6-6 FEDERER (6-7)
Into the tie break we go as Federer holds serve again. How important will this be? Does Federer need to win this match in three given that he isn't looking so sharp at the moment?
21:53
KOEPFER 6-5 FEDERER* (6-7)
At the very least, Koepfer has another tie break from this set as he holds serve. The German has responded very well to going a set and a break down at the start of the second set.
21:52
Check out this shot from Federer!
21:50
*KOEPFER 5-5 FEDERER (6-7)
Federer had 40-0 and looked to be cruising in that game. Then somehow Koepfer brought himself back to 40-40, two points away from the set, but Federer steadies to hold again.
21:46
KOEPFER 5-4 FEDERER* (6-7)
A love hold from Koepfer only adds to the sense that the German is the one playing the best tennis as we come to the business end of the second set.
21:45
*KOEPFER 4-4 FEDERER (6-7)
Federer keeps the scoreboard ticking over even though he is playing well within himself at the moment. The Swiss needs to find a second wind from somewhere. Is he jaded?
21:39
KOEPFER 4-3 FEDERER* (6-7)
Koepfer moves ahead in the second set for the first time. This is definitely a dip that Federer is currently going through. Missed a couple shots he wouldn't normally.
21:36
*KOEPFER 3-3 FEDERER (6-7)
A third successive break! And now it's Federer's turn to have a nightmare of a game as he's broken to love. Neither play can build any sort of momentum in this second set.
21:33
KOEPFER 2-3 FEDERER* (6-7)
Another break! That was a terrible game from Koepfer who essentially gifted a break to Federer. A love break as well. Just as the German looked to be getting on top of this second set.
21:30
*KOEPFER 2-2 FEDERER (6-7)
Break back! An excellent return from Koepfer on break point and the German is back on serve in this second set! Federer looks to have lost his concentration again. He's dipped.
