BREAK! - FEDERER 6-2 2-6 2-1 CILIC. First blood to Fed in this all-important third set. The Swiss skies a backhand into orbit on the first of two break points but then gets it so right on the next one, unloading off that wing to leave Cilic rooted to the spot.

FEDERER 6-2 2-5 CILIC. Federer tries to apply the pressure and outlasts Cilic despite a series of attacks pinpointed to his backhand once again. Chila stands tall at 40-30 though and is one game away from levelling the match.
FEDERER 6-2 2-4 CILIC. The Maestro stays in touch with a simple enough hold to 15. That fiery conclusion to Game 5 has added spice to this already intriguing encounter now.
FEDERER 6-2 1-4 CILIC. Drama! Federer has a huge discussion with the umpire about moving to his towel when Cilic is ready to serve. The Swiss is rattled after seeing double break point evaporate into deuce. The delay is quite some time and when they return to action the 2009 champion is clearly pumped when he guesses right on a forehand and flashes an instinctive shot into the empty court. He still can’t snare the break back though and Cilic rallies hard to somehow edge to safety.
FEDERER 6-2 1-3 CILIC. That could be one Cilic ends up ruing. He has two shots at a double break but can’t convert. Federer hits back and nicks it from deuce to get on the board and stay in contention in the set.
FEDERER 6-2 0-3 CILIC. The Croatian rallies from 15-30 and gets his reward for bombarding that Federer backhand by consolidating.

BREAK! - FEDERER 6-2 0-2 CILIC. That’s fabulous from Cilic. Some solid returns earn him another break opportunity and this time he finally makes it count as Federer fails to retrieve a brutal crosscourt howitzer off the world number 47’s forehand
FEDERER 6-2 0-1 CILIC. What an epic opener to Set 2! Cilic goes through the wringer and feels the full range of emotions as a 40-0 lead disappears and he faces another BP following two double faults. He saves it with a sizzling crosscourt forehand winner but is made to hang on as Federer refuses to grant him the game. Eventually, the Croatian does drag himself through to get on the board.
