GAME, SET AND MATCH! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 6-4 CUEVAS. The world number one serves it out with an ace to seal victory after an entertaining two hours and six minutes on court. Cuevas was a joy to watch at times but Nole was another level and is very serious contender for the title here this year.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 5-4 CUEVAS. Pablo keeps Djokovic honest by easing through a hold to 15. The Serb will now look to serve out the match.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 5-3 CUEVAS. That’s another important step for Novak. He rattles down a ninth ace and eases to a hold for the loss of one point.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 4-3 CUEVAS. The world number one cannot shrug off Cuevas just yet. The Uruguayan started well, was blown away for a bit and has really upped the ante in this set.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 4-2 CUEVAS. That’s more like it. After being pushed to the limits in his previous tow service games, this one was rather routine. A hold to 30 edges Djoker a tad closer to that finish line.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 3-2 CUEVAS. Pablo has been feeding off that energy from the crowd in the past few games and he seems more interested again. He finishes with an ace as he races to a love. Djokovic must be wondering how he let his rock-solid grip on this match soften, but he needs to re-focus and finish the job now.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 3-1 CUEVAS. Nole is fuming and his loss of focus has made this a real fight when it seemed like being more of a procession. He’s not impressed by a group of fans who are showing their support for his opponent and lets out his rage. It contributes to a really topsy-turvy 13-minute game with an ace, a DF and having to scramble to fend off two more BPs.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 2-1 CUEVAS. There’s a big cheer from the crowd as Cuevas gets himself on the scoreboard with a solid service game to 15. They want him to bring the showman part of his game back to the court. It’s no surprise because it made for such great viewing in the opening set.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 2-0 CUEVAS. The Djokovic dip arrives at 40-30 and he’s made to work extremely hard in a lengthy game. Cuevas desperately wants the break but can’t convert his two chances. Djoker again finds a way and eventually consolidates. It’s been plain-sailing for so long, but the roar at the end shows just how pleased he is to get over the line.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 1-0 CUEVAS. The crowd try to raise Cuevas’s spirits but he looks disconsolate. He double faults and leaks errors as the Serb seems to read everything his opponent is about to try before he knows himself! It’s another early break and only Djoker can stop himself from finishing this quickly now.

SET! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-2 CUEVAS. The road to round three is clearing of obstacles for the top seed. He shrugs off a double fault to easily serve out to 15 for a two-set advantage. Cuevas has contributed some nice play throughout but he just can’t live with Nole’s machine-like genius.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-2 CUEVAS. Pablo finds some of that flair to edge a hold to 30 and force Djokovic to try and serve out Set 2.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-1 CUEVAS. The world number one is one fire here. He saunters through another completely dominant service game, chipping in another ace. He’ll be delighted with his form if he can keep this ridiculous level up for another set.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 4-1 CUEVAS. Yes, the magic has faded a bit and Djoker’s relentless brilliance is taking more of the spotlight. He breaks to love and is well within sight of that two-set lead.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 3-1 CUEVAS. Ruthless efficiency once again from the Serbinator. He motors to a simple hold for the loss of one point to maintain his advantage in Set 2.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-1 CUEVAS. Pablo gets on the board, following suit with a hold to 15 and an ace to seal it. He’s playing a big role in the quality of this match but the reality is that Novak is firmly in charge.
