Brilliant hold of serve from Sandgren, but boy did the American have to work for it! Djokovic had him on strings at the baseline, but he still did just enough as the Serbian broke down at the net.

A wonderful drop shot winner from Djokovic to bring up 40-15. You could almost see Sandgren sigh as he chased it down. There was no way he was getting it back over the net.

Sandgren is on the scoreboard, but even in that service game there was a warning sign from Djokovic who fired a stunning backhand winner down the line from a position he should never have been able to generate that sort of power from.
