Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the French Open women's singles semi final between Iga Swiatek and Nadia Podoroska. We'll bring you all the action as it happens at Roland Garros. What an opportunity for these two. Swiatek has been one of the stories of the tournament, blowing away world number one Simona Halep in the last 16. But Podoroska has also provided an excellent story to make it this far. One of these two will be in the final!

Incredible performance from Swiatek and the teenager will play her first ever Grand Slam final on Saturday! She will face the winner of the Kenin-Kvitova semi final later today and she could win the whole thing. Swiatek completely outplayed Podoroska. In truth, there wasn't really much of a contest.

It's a third break of the Podoroska serve in this second set and Swiatek will now serve for a place in the Roland Garros final. The biggest moment of her career so far. Can she keep her nerve? She's been so remarkably steady this afternoon!

Not over yet! Podoroska gets back one of the double breaks in this second set. The world number 131 brought up four break points in that Swiatek service game and finally grabbed one of them. Good fight from Podoroska, but there's a sense that break came from a slight dip from Swiatek. And the conditions.

This could be over very quickly. It's a double break for Swiatek in this second set and the teenager is just two games away from her first ever Grand Slam final. Podoroska just can't get a real foothold in the contest.

Make that 15 of the last 16 points on serve. Swiatek just can't miss at the moment. Her weight of shot is proving too much for Podoroska. It feels like the world number 131 is simply hanging on in the rallies. Swiatek is three games away from the final.

It's an early break at the start of this second half, with Swiatek guiding a forehand winner into the open court on break point, and you have to wonder if this semi final might be as good as over already. Swiatek looks to be in complete control.

Swiatek has won 11 of her last 12 points on serve and that's another comfortable hold for the Polish teenager. A huge game for Podoroska next. She needs to get on the board early in this second set to stand a chance of turning this around.

SWIATEK 6-2 PODOROSKA
After 35 minutes Swiatek has one foot in the Roland Garros final. Podoroska saved two set points, but landed a backhand in the net on a third one and the Polish teenager shouts 'COME ON!' into the Parisian air. What a talent she is and she has been in control of this contest so far, even if Podoroska improved after a bad start.

Swiatek is one game away from taking the first set. The Pole seems to be dealing with the challenging conditions on Philippe Chatrier better than her opponent. The ball is moving all over the place. There was even a moment when Swiatek abandoned her ball toss due to the wind and had to reset. Wild.

A first comfortable hold of serve from Podoroska. She is starting to come forward a bit more often and that is seeing her dictate more of the points. Those shaky first few games of the set seem to be in the past for Podoroska now.

Swiatek saves a break point at 30-40, with Podoroska sending a bit of a wild forehand into the tramlines, and then finds a wonderful angled forehand on game point to come out of the mini battle with the hold of serve. Podoroska has found a foothold in the contest, though.

On the board and that was crucial for the world number 131. Everything is a bit of a fight for Podoroska at the moment, and a couple unforced errors and a lob beyond the baseline helped her in that service game, but she finally has something to build on in this semi final.

Only 11 minutes into this semi final and Swiatek already has a 3-0 lead. Podoroska is being comprehensively outplayed at the moment. It's the groundstrokes, drop shots, angles, serving... everything right now. She already has a lot of work on her hands. Not looking great.

What a start for the teenager! Swiatek was so eager to step into the Podoroska second serve, which she faced a few of in that service game, and it was the Pole who started to dictate the points. She has settled so well while Podoroska is still struggling to find her flow.

A little bit of a shaky start from Swiatek, with Podoroska bringing up 0-30, but the teenager manages to hold serve to get herself on the board at the start of this opening set. Challenging conditions again at Roland Garros today! Really, really windy! Could be a factor.
