Good morning, and welcome to today's Roland-Garros coverage, where seventh seed Petra Kvitova is about to take on Laura Siegemund for a place in the French Open semi-final.

Kvitova will face either Sofia Kenin or Danielle Collins in her semi-final.

Kvitova is beaming as Fabrice Santoro conducts the post-match interview.

"In the first set, I was serving a little bit better...it was really difficult to stay focused and wait for the chance to keep my serve.

"In my last match, I got a little bit emotional when I won...I'm really happy to be here, to play, to have joy from tennis."

Kvitova blows kisses to the scarce Chatrier crowd, while Siegemund gathers up her towels to make her exit.

KVITOVA 6-3, 6-3 SIEGEMUND: That second set was much tougher for Kvitova, but the final straight was reasonably easy with Siegemund suffering. Game, set and match for the Czech seventh seed.

KVITOVA 6-3, 5-3 SIEGEMUND: A little raise of the arm for Kvitova as she holds - she will be confident that she can see this out now.

KVITOVA 6-3, 4-3 SIEGEMUND: Ah, but serving seems a bit more tricky for Siegemund, presumably whatever she was having treated is giving her some gyp. Broken to love.

KVITOVA 6-3, 3-3 SIEGEMUND: And an angry Siegemund is all fired up, stepping up to the net and meeting the Kvitova serve with aggression. Break!

Laura Siegemund is having a medical time-out, looks like she's having her left hip worked on.

KVITOVA 6-3, 3-2 SIEGEMUND: Laura Siegemund has a row with the umpire regarding a time violation on her serve at deuce, and it seems to put her off just a little bit - meaning that Kvitova capitalises and gets the break right back.

KVITOVA 6-3, 2-2 SIEGEMUND: Well, fourth time's the charm for Siegemund - she finally breaks the Kvitova serve.

KVITOVA 6-3, 2-1 SIEGEMUND: A battle of the drop shots in a delicate little rally! Siegemund is always going to win that one though.

KVITOVA 6-3, 2-0 SIEGEMUND: Siegemund is chasing shadows out there. She can see what Kvitova is doing but just cannot get to the ball. Hold to 15.

KVITOVA 6-3, 1-0 SIEGEMUND: Siegemund tries to save a second break point with a drop shot, but it's right into the net and Kvitova has made the early breakthrough.

KVITOVA 6-3 SIEGEMUND: Kvitova is cheering herself when she wins a point - the crowd here on Chatrier is sparse this morning - and well she might. A good, solid first set from her.

KVITOVA 5-3 SIEGEMUND: The body serve from Siegemund there! It works well for her too. Hold to love - but Kvitova will have the chance to serve this out.

KVITOVA 5-2 SIEGEMUND: Good aggression from Kvitova, stepping up and taking the game to Siegemund - and that serve is right down the shorter woman's throat.

KVITOVA 4-2 SIEGEMUND: The German is staying in touch here, knowing that she can't out-hit her opponent.

KVITOVA 4-1 SIEGEMUND: You would not want to be standing down the other end of the court from Kvitova's serve this morning. Siegemund is cleverly meeting it with touch courtesy of a drop shot and a lob, but not enough against the Czech.

KVITOVA 3-1 SIEGEMUND: This is such tremendous firing from Kvitova, just sending back everything Siegemund has to offer, with power but also guile. That's the break - 12 minutes gone.
