Cilic 7-5 6-1 1-1 Copil -

Another retirement, the third of the day so far! Copil tried his arse off there, but has a leg injury and what can you do. It's hard to know when it actually happened, as there was no obvious moment - perhaps just before he started losing - but it matters not. Cilic plays Hubert Hurkacz of Poland next, who also benefittd from a retirement - gosh, it's brutal out there.

Cilic 7-5 6-1 Copil -

It's nearly seven minutes since the last point, and Cilic is playing ferocious air-shots. But Copil is back now, and preparing to serve.

Cilic 7-5 6-1 Copil -

Cilic has 12 of the last 13 games, and is now 2-0 ahead. Copil actually saved two set-points, but couldn't steal the third and is now a forlorn sight, wandering off for treatment.

Cilic 7-5 4-0 Copil -

As expected, Cilic has stepped on it. A forehand into the net means he's just sorted the double-break, and he'll fancy himself to be back in the cool within the hour.

Cilic 7-5 Copil -

From 5-1 behind, and after saving five set-points, Cilic finds himself with two set point of his own. The firs is saved by Copil with a second-serve ace. But then Cilic climbs into another second serve, Copil goes long with a backhand, and this is going only one way.

Cilic 5-5 Copil -

And there we go. Cilic breaks - easily, too - and Copil is in a huge quantity of aggravation.

Cilic 4-5 Copil -

Time's up. Cilic is back in business, getting one break back and saving five set points. It may be too late to actually save the set - Copil will serve for it in a moment - but he'll have to go some to bring it home from there.

Cilic 1-4 Copil -

Double-break now for Copil, who is making this look very easy.

Cilic 1-2 Copil -

On Grandstand, the number 7 seed and 2014 champ is under a bit of pressure, broken early in set 1. No doubt he'll sort it, but then he managed to make a right mess at Wimbledon, losing a two-set lead against Pella, so you never know.

They're warming up on Grandstand.
