Second seed Angelique Kerber destroyed American CiCi Bellis 6-1 6-1 to book a spot in the US Open fourth round.
The German did well to silence the expecting crowd early and from there on in she looked in total control as she stormed through.
There was plenty of fight from Bellis, and the crowd roared encouragingly whenever she secured a point, but ultimately Kerber proved to be too good for the 17-year-old and showed her experience as she saw out the game.
Bellis gave the crowd something to cheer about with a spirited late showing and she certainly has a bright future ahead of her, while Kerber has her sights set on the No.1 ranking.
Next up for Kerber is Petra Kvitova in the fourth round.
