Andy Murray had just reached his sixth Wimbledon semi-final when he was greeted with another curious line of questioning by intrepid BBC reporter Garry Richardson.

Rather than push on with questions about the British number one's performance levels in a 6-4 7-5 6-4 win over Canada's Vasek Pospisil on Centre Court, the inquisitive Richardson wanted to know what Murray felt about playing in front of Prince William, his wife the Duchess of Cambridge and former England football captain David Beckham.
It reached a juncture where the BBC man oddly implied that Beckham himself was a form of royalty.
"Is there any more pressure because of Royal spectators? David Beckham was here today," said Richardson.
"He wasn't a royal, was he?" said a perplexed Murray.
Richardson said: "I'll let you decide."
"It's great that they came along to support," said Murray with immaculate diplomacy.
We all know Auntie Beeb loves the Royals, but adding Becks to the list is probably pushing the blood line a bit far.

As always, plenty of people of Twitter were a bit dazed by such goings on with Richardson under as much fire as poor Pospisil during the match.
Of course, this isn't the first time Murray has encountered Richardson's unique line of questioning,
No sooner had Andy Murray worked his way through a tricky Wimbledon quarter-final against Fernando Verdasco in five gruelling sets on his way to winning the tournament two years ago, he was handed his most uncomfortable moment of the evening: an interview with Garry.
"Sir Alex Ferguson was in the Royal Box today watching you," Richardson began, "and he has been known to go into the dressing room after matches and give his players a bit of the hairdryer treatment. Will Lendl (Ivan, Murray’s former coach) say some things to you Andy to sort of gee you up or do you not need that or do you know it all yourself?"
"I don’t know it all," Murray replied, "far from it, but I don’t see why I should get told off for that. I fought as hard as I could, tried incredibly hard, chased every single ball down to the first to the last and I came through an incredibly tough match."
