SET! - FEDERER 6-4 NORRIE. The Swiss Maestro looks like he’s barely broken sweat as he serves it out to 15 to take the opener in 31 minutes.

FEDERER 5-4 NORRIE. That’s a touch of class. Norrie poses the serve-out question with a disguised drop shot from wide on his left flank. Federer sees it too late and casually strolls to his chair without giving any thought to trying to chase a sublime shot down.
FEDERER 5-3 NORRIE. Federer swash-buckles his way to a love hold and consolidates with the minimum of fuss. Suddenly, in the click of some fingers, the set looks to be racing away from the Brit.

BREAK! – FEDERER 4-3 NORRIE. Cam coughs up another gift with a double fault for 0-30 and then lashes a forehand long. Federer doesn’t turn down this present and corks his own forehand winner to break to love.

FEDERER 3-3 NORRIE. Federer picks and chooses the moment for it but when he serve and volleys it’s poetry in motion. It really is a sight to see on the Centre Court. He does it to gasps of awe for 40-0 and rapidly wraps up a perfect hold to level.
FEDERER 2-3 NORRIE. It’s probably fair to say Federer is doing most of the probing when the ball gets into anything resembling a rally but his radar is way off at present. He miscues down line and then long as Norrie well and truly puts that first game nightmare behind him.
FEDERER 2-2 NORRIE. The serve and volley does the trick to settle another routine hold for FedEx. The crowd are still yet to truly engage in this contest. No real rallies to get you on your feet.
FEDERER 1-2 NORRIE. Cam looks to have ironed out the kinks in that serve. There’s no danger here as he clocks up some welcome cheap points to rattle through four points in a row after dropping the opening one of the game.
FEDERER 1-1 NORRIE. No such drama for Federer as he surges through a hold to 15. Norrie needs to settle fast here. The eight-time champion won’t be so charitable if he’s offered such gift-wrapped chances going forward.
FEDERER 0-1 NORRIE. That’s a massive escape! Norrie suffers a major case of the jitters with a trio of double faults. He saves break point with an ace and is let off the hook as Fed lashes a few forehands an inch long.

Norrie: "If there is a time to play Roger, I guess now is the best - but he is still a decent player!"

Federer: "I hope the crowd gets into it. I understand if they cheer for him and if it is for me it is because of the last 20 years and all the big wins I've had here. Cam is a good guy, he's had a wonderful year and played great at Queen's, backing that up here."
