ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 6-3 - GAME, SET & MATCH - A forehand into the net from Kerber hands Robson the first point before the Brit gets a little lucky when the German hits a forehand volley into the net after being handed the ball on a plate. Robson earns herself three match points next and seals it with an unreturnable first serve out wide
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 5-3 - BREAK - A forehand into the net followed by a double fault from Kerber help Robson to a 0-30 lead. Kerber bounces back with a great first serve that Robson can only return long and a second serve that the Brit slaps into the net. A forehand winner down the line earns Robson a break point. Kerber saves it with a forehand winner across court off a drop shot but Robson earns herself a second chance and this time takes it with a cross court forehand winner
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 4-3 - BREAK - Two great first serves followed by two easy forehand winners into the open court help Robson get off the mark and she earns herself two game points with another great serve that Kerber can only return long. She squanders them both them with a forehand long and a forehand into the net before the German goes on to break when Robson slices a cross court forehand wide
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 4-2 - After a lengthy break for Kerber to receive treatment to her left shoulder, the German comes back out to hold with a forehand winner and keep the pressure on Robson at just one break down. The next couple of points are vital for Robson now
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 4-1 - Kerber has called for the trainer and it is taking an age for her to get there from the clubhouse, giving Robson plenty of time to a) think about how she wants the rest of the match to go and b) unfortunately get cold as the time ticks round to 7.55pm
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 4-1 - BREAK - Robson recovers from 15-30 down with a 46th winner, 30 on the forehand, as she riffles a change-of-direction forehand winner straight down the line. A double fault promptly hands Kerber a break back point though and the German grabs it when Robson sends a forehand long.
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 4-0 - BREAK - Robson rattles a running forehand passing shot winner down the line to earn herself another break point although she misses the forehand return of serve well long as she goes for her shot. Robson gets a second chance though after a double fault from Kerber. And this time she is gifted the break after a second double. Ouch.
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 3-0 - Robson rattles an off-forehand winner across court on her way to earn herself game points, one of which she takes advantage of when Kerber slaps a off-balance forehand long of the baseline
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 2-0 - BREAK - Robson absolutely belts a backhand return of serve straight down the line to break at the first attempt
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) 1-0 - Robson races through an opening service hold to get her third set underway. She's holding the momentum at the moment but can she capitalise on it?
ROBSON 4-6 7-6(4) - SET - A blistering forehand winner battered down the line helps Robson on her way to two set points. She only needs the one though as she comes up with a cracking first serve that Kerber can only return into the net
ROBSON 4-6 6-6(4-2) - TIE-BREAK - Robson races out to a 4-0 lead with a series of huge forehands before being pegged back to just the one mini-break before the change of ends
ROBSON 4-6 6-6 - Robson does well to hold without any drama to force this second set to a tie-break. What can she pull off now?
ROBSON 4-6 5-6 - Having served for the set last time around, Robson will now have to serve to stay in it and also the match after drilling a backahand wide down the line to hand Kerber another game. The German now just one game away from the win
ROBSON 4-6 5-5 - BREAK - A nervy second serve from Robson hands Kerber the chance to find a forehand winner down the line and earn herself a break back point. And she does go on to break back and level once again with a cross court backhand winner
ROBSON 4-6 5-4 - BREAK - Robson flirts with danger as she fires a cross court backhand right on to the outside of the sideline to break and leave herself a chance to serve out this second set. It was a great shot but was definitely closer than it needed to be!
ROBSON 4-6 4-4 - Robson makes a little more hard work than she need to of that service hold and she fires a forehand long. But in the end she goes on to hold to 30 to level up once again in this tight second set
ROBSON 4-6 3-4 - Robson races up to a shorter ball from Kerber only to fire a forehand well long of the baseline and that hands another hold to Kerber. This match is reaching crunch point now, Robson needs to find another break and soon. But first she needs a hold of serve
ROBSON 4-6 3-3 - A brilliant game from Robson as she posts a hold to 15 with a series of beautiful shots including a cross court backhand winner and a forehand winner down the line
ROBSON 4-6 2-3 - Robson levels at deuce but working her way into the net and firing a shoulder-height forehand down the line for a winner. Kerber than misses a near identical shot wide across court to hand Robson a break point but saves it with a cross court forehand before going on to hold when Robson fires wide. Robson is furious with herself for letting that opportunity go astray
ROBSON 4-6 2-2 - Robson misses an absolute shocker of a forehand volley, firing well long, before consecutive unreturnable serves had her a solid hold to 15
ROBSON 4-6- 1-2 - Kerber holds in a fantastically entertaining service game. On game point she looks almost out of the rally but superbly crafts her way back into the game, finally putting away a neat volley at the net.
ROBSON 4-6 1-1 - Robson holds her serve in what seems like a nervy game for the Brit. Both leftys exchange ground strokes in the final point before Kerber puts on just wide of the left-hand tram line.
ROBSON 4-6 0-1 - Kerber starts the second set as she ended the first - on top. Her first service game is held to 15 as she wrong-foots Robson to lead 1-0.
ROBSON - SET - 4-6 - Robson lands herself in trouble as she goes 0-30 down and then nets a very simple forehand when Kerber was out of the court. Her second serve on the next point is too weak and the German slaps it straight back down the line for a winner, the break and the set.
ROBSON 4-5 - A relatively long service game from Kerber finally comes to an end when Robson nets a forehand. Prior to that, the Brit had battled back from 0-30 to give herself a chance of a break. It wasn't to be though and now she'll serve to stay in the set.
ROBSON - BREAK - 4-4 - For the first time in the match Laura Robson strugles with her service game and is subsequently broken. Kerber looking very sharp at the minute...
ROBSON 4-3 - Kerber puts together a solid service to hold to love. Robson wasn't even in that service game. Too good from the German.
ROBSON 4-2 - The Brit is keeping on top of her German opponent here as she holds to 15. Kerber puttig a forehand long to give Robson the game.
ROBSON 3-2 - Kerber again has to battle through her service game but this time she holds. 17-year old Robson is looking very good out here on Court 16.
ROBSON 3-1 - Robson faces a break point at 30-40 but some very smart angled forehands help her on her way to holding her second service game.
ROBSON - BREAK - 2-1 - Laura Robson gets in the early break after controlling the Kerber serve and then putting away a neat forehand to win the game.
ROBSON 1-1 - Robson also holds her first service game. After going 30-0 up, she is then pegged back to 30-30 but two smartly taken forehands ensure the hold.
ROBSON 0-1 -Kerber gets the match off to a flyer as she races through her first service game and holds to love.
