WILLIAMS - GAME, SET & MATCH - 2-6 3-6 - Tsvetana Pironkova has just played an outstanding match against the five-time Champion. Venus wasn't at her best admittedly, but you can take nothing away from the Bulgarian. The 32nd seed looked like nerves were getting the best of her during the last few games but she didn't have any trouble with serving out the game as she held to 15. Both Williams sisters are now out!!

WILLIAMS 2-6 3-5 - The American holds but the game is absolutely gifted to her. Venus goes to 40-15 but makes a mess of a backhand to let the Bulgarian back in. The 23rd seed then sends down a very average second serve which should have been put away, but Pironkova could only find the net.
WILLIAMS - 2-6 2-5 - Do you think the Bulgarian's feeling a little nervous out there? Or is Venus just showing why she has so many Grand Slam titles to her name? Pironkova has been so consistent with her serves but is now struggling a bit. Venus races to 15-40 but is pegged back to deuce courtesy of some very big serving. Venus makes an unforced error on the forehand at game point and she must now serve to stay in the game.
WILLIAMS - BREAK - 2-6 2-4 - Pironkova struggles with the Venus serve and hands the American a 30-0 lead. The Bulgarian then fights back to deuce with some almighty ground strokes. The five-time Champ can then do nothing but laugh through frustration as she sends a routine drive volley long. She then does exactly the same on the next point to gift the 32nd seed a break.
WILLIAMS - BREAK - 3-6 2-3 - Pironkova loses two successive points on her serve and looks in a spot of bother. She then clocks up her 9th and 10th unreturned serves of the match to reach game point. The 32nd seed then double faults for the first time to allow Venus back in but follows it up with a curving ace out wide. The game then to-and-fros before Venus takes the advantage and forces Pironkova to miss to get the break.
WILLIAMS - BREAK - 2-6 1-3 - Oops. Venus is not playing too smartly here. She double faults and makes two unforced errors on her way to losing her serve to 15. The Bulgarian is running away with this...
WILLIAMS 2-6 1-2 - The Bulgarian again holds to love. Is it Venus who is returning poorly or Pironkova who is serving excellently? Or both? Either way, Williams needs to pull something out of the bag here or it could be over in straight sets.
WILLIAMS 2-6 1-1 - The 23rd seed Williams rushes through her service game, proving that she can keep up with her big-serving opponent. The American holds to 15 and wins the game with a forehand winner down the line.
WILLIAMS 2-6 0-1 - Pironkova holds serve with ease yet again. She holds to love and has only lost four points on her serve during the match so far. What has Venus got to do to get herself involved in the Bulgarian's serve?
WILLIAMS - SET - 2-6 - Hmmmm, that looked a little too easy. Pironkova gets to 40-15 on the venus serve but can do nothing as Venus slams a forehand cross-court for a clean winner. The American misses a very simple backhand mid-court on the following point as she creams it into the net and hands the set to the Bulgarian.
WILLIAMS 2-5 - The Bulgarian is looking very comfortable on Centre against the five-time Champ. She again serves her way to a hold to 15. An unreturnable serve is powered out wide and Pironkova is now just one game away from taking the opening set.
WILLIAMS - BREAK - 2-4 - This is some big, big hitting. Both ladies are going for it. I mean really going for it. Pironkova is keeping up with the former Champion in every single way and breaks the Williams serve when the American volleys into the net after a long rally.
WILLIAMS 2-3 - Very, very easy again. Another hold to love in double-quick time for the Bulgarian. Venus needs to come up with a way to get her racquet on these serves or the American could be in trouble...
WILLIAMS 2-2 - Relatively simple yet again for Venus. Pironkova is reading the Williams serve well but cannot combat the power that it is coming over the net with. Venus holds with some huge serves of her own. The way this is going, we could be here for some time.
WILLIAMS 1-2 - The American is still stuglling with this serve. Pironkova holds to love. The 32nd seed races through her second service game, making two aces.
WILLIAMS 1-1 - Venus responds as expected. A very solid, very tight service game is finished with an ace followed by a missed return outwide from the Bulgarian.
WILLIAMS 0-1 - The Bulgarian seems to be giving the five-time Champion some problems out on Centre Court. Venus struggles reading the serve and gets forced out of the court on most points. The 32nd seed opens the match with a very gutsy service hold.
