Wimbledon 2018: Serena Williams breezes past Evgeniya Rodina and into quarter-finals
Serena Williams wasted just an hour in beating Evgeniya Rodina 6-2 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.
Williams conceded four games in the entire match as she cruised past Rodina, who was simply unable to compete with the American.
The 25th seed took 62 minutes to romp past the Russian with a stunning display of hitting from the back of the court.
Rodina attempted to throw everything at Williams, but could simply not make an impression as she was blown away on every level.
Williams, who has a kind run through to the semi-finals, will next take on Camila Giorgi of Italy.
If she gets past that challenge, a match-up with either Kiki Bertens or Julia Goerges will await in the last four.
It was Serena's 18th straight win at the All England Club as the 23-time Grand Slam champion reached her 13th quarter-final.
