Laura Robson was convincingly beaten by Angelique Kerber in the first round of Wimbledon.

The Briton, who has struggled with a wrist injury over the past year, lasted just over an hour against the Australian Open champion.

The German No 4 seed came through 6-2 6-2 to set up a second-round clash with Varvara Lepchenko.
