Defending champion Andy Murray was sent packing by Sam Querrey in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, after slipping to a 6-3 4-6 7-6 1-6 1-6 defeat.
The world No 1 and top seed, who seemed to be struggling with a hip injury for the final two sets, looked to be cruising after taking the first set 6-3 but his giant opponent hit back, taking the second 6-4.
Murray won a tiebreak 7-4 to edge ahead again before his movement became worse and he ended up surrendering the fourth and fifth sets 6-1, 6-1, with the American not letting the Briton into any of his service games.
"I'm still in shock myself," Querrey said after wrapping victory with his 27th ace.
"I didn't start my best but kept with it and kept swinging and I hit my groove in the fourth and fifth sets.
"It feels great and it's a dream come true ... to get to a semi-final and have it happen at Wimbledon makes it a bit more special."
Querrey will now face Marin Cilic, who beat Rafa Nadal's conqueror Gilles Muller 3-6 6-7 5-7 7-5 6-1, in the last four.
