When does Wimbledon start? How to watch and live stream the third Grand Slam of the year on TV in the UK. This is everything you need to know ahead of the event getting underway at SW19, with Novak Djokovic looking to make more history.

All eyes will be on London this July as Wimbledon returns with Novak Djokovic eyeing a record-equalling eighth title at the grass-court event.

The Serbian, who has already won the Australian and French Open titles this year, could also extend his total number of Grand Slams to 24 and edge closer to the calendar Grand Slam.

Potentially standing in his way however is world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, who recently triumphed at Queen’s to make a statement about his own grass-court credentials.

In the women’s draw, Elena Rybakina will be looking to defend the title she won last year, with the relentless Iga Swiatek also among the favourites.

When is Wimbledon 2023?

The tournament begins on Monday July 3, with the women’s singles final taking place on July 15 and the men’s 24 hours later on July 16.

How to watch and live stream Wimbledon 2023 on TV in the UK

The BBC are rights-holders in the UK with coverage on BBC 1, BBC 2 and BBC iPlayer.

You can watch daily highlights from Wimbledon at 10pm on Eurosport 2 and discovery+ from July 3, as well as the two singles finals live on July 15 and 16.

There will also be extensive coverage on the Eurosport app and eurosport.co.uk.

When does Wimbledon 2023 start and what's the schedule?

Like in 2022, Wimbledon will be played over 14 days including the middle Sunday which, prior to last year, was a designated rest day.

Before the change, ‘Manic Monday’ was a huge feature of the tournament in which all men’s and women’s fourth round matches would take place, to the delight of both fans in attendance and those watching at home.

These matches are now spread across two days.

As far as the day-to-day scheduling goes, a full Order of Play will be available the night before the next day’s play.

Play on the outside courts will start at 11am every day, with Court One following at 1pm and Centre Court at 1.30pm. On finals weekend, play on Centre Court will commence at 2pm (all times BST).

The draw for the men’s and women’s singles events is set to take place on Friday 30 June at 10am BST.

The total prize money fund for The Championships 2023 will be a record £44,700,000, according to the AELTC - an 11.2% increase on 2022 and a 17.1% increase on the pre-pandemic Championships in 2019.

Will Russian and Belarusian players be competing at Wimbledon 2023?

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, The All England Club banned players from Russia and Belarus from competing last year, but has lifted the ban for the 2023 tournament.

The grass-court event was the only Grand Slam last year to refuse Russian and Belarusian players from competing, but has now said that it would permit players from those nations to compete under a neutral flag.
