Lacklustre Johanna Konta crashes out of Aegon Classic in Birmingham

Johanna Konta once again failed to progress beyond the second round of the Aegon Classic on Thursday, as American CoCo Vandeweghe caused an upset for the Brit.
It was the first time the pair had met on grass altogether, and in fact any surface for five years, and Vandeweghe's speed may have come as something of a surprise to the Great British No.1.
Vandeweghe saw off the first set in just 24 minutes, with Konta looking visibly shaken after almost enduring a bagel at the American's hands.
Konta managed to claw a game back after going 5-0 down, but the set ended 6-1 in the American's favour.
Stepping up for the second set, Konta looked to be warming up, with her first serve coming good at last at 6-1 1-2, and Vandeweghe's game started to appear riddled with errors.
But it was not long before Vandeweghe broke to take advantage and cruised to her 6-1 6-3 win.
