LAUSANNE - On 30 November the last monthly meeting of the year 2016 was organized for the partners, architects and engineers, involved in the construction of the Synathlon building, the future FISU Headquarters.
“The project has started in 2012 and after more than 3 years of planning and tender procedure, the construction has started in January this year and should be completed in December 2017. FISU will occupy 1.5 floors of this four floors building that will be shared with the Institute of Sports of the University of Lausanne, AISTS and ThinkSport,” said FISU Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond who has been coordinating this project with the authorities of the Canton de Vaud for more than four years.
“Located at the entrance of the Campus of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) this construction will bring FISU and the university sports movement back to the Campus,” said Saintrond.
The opening of the new HQ should take place in January – February 2018. FISU will occupy 1,700 m² of the building.
