Beijing Olympic gold medallists Brazil whipped South Korea for their third straight win to remain unbeaten in the World Grand Champions Cup women's volleyball tournament in Tokyo.
Marianne Steinbrecher scored the team's best of 16 points and Sheilla Castro (pictured) 13 points to lead the defending champions to a 28-26, 25-17, 25-15 victory in the six-team round robin competition.
"Our serve, defence and blocking all went well today. I say it was perfect. For us, it was very important to win 3-0 against South Korea," said Brazilian coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes.
European champions Italy, who defeated Brazil to win the 2007 World Cup, also chalked up their third straight win when they eased aside the Dominican Republic 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.
Brazil and Italy will face each other when the tournament shifts to Fukuoka, southern Japan, Saturday for its remaining two days.
