Nicky Catsburg will make his Swedish GT debut this weekend as the latest FIA World Touring Car Championship star recruited to bolster Prince Carl Philip’s title bid with Polestar Cyan Racing.

Catsburg, who follows WTCC team-mate Thed Björk in linking up with the racing royal, will be in action at former Swedish Grand Prix venue Anderstorp.

“This is a completely new challenge for me with a car and circuit that I have never driven, but I am very much looking forward to it,” said Catsburg. “My goal is very clear for the weekend at Anderstorp and it is to support Prince Carl Philip in his fight for the title.”

Prince Carl Philip is third in the Swedish GT table, six points off the top, following the recent Karlskoga round.

“Karlskoga was our best weekend so far this year and it feels good to have that with us going to Anderstorp,” he said. “We will have to fight harder than ever this weekend but I am up for it and I am glad to have Nicky on board. He is a very fast driver and hopefully we can stand on the podium together.”
