Three-time FIA World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx has got his 2019 season off to a flying start with a podium finish in the 1000 Miles of Sebring FIA World Endurance Championship counter in the United States.

Partnered by Harry Tincknell and Jonathan Bomarito in a Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT, Priaulx placed third in class following a rain-hit race.

“In the last part it was just a lottery, it poured with rain and we were on slicks,” said Priaulx. “We pitted one lap too late as we thought it would maybe a passing shower, but it ended up being torrential and the race finished under the safety car.”

Priaulx’s next competitive outing will be at WTCR Race of Morocco in Marrakech from 5-7 April, the opening rounds of the 2019 WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO. He will drive a Cyan Racing-prepared Lynk & Co 03 TCR.
