Benjamin Leuchter claimed the TAG Heuer Best Lap Trophy along with his first FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO podium finish at WTCR Race of Netherlands.

The German, who finished second in the reverse-grid Race 2, also set the fastest lap in his SLR Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR. His time of 1m47.077s eclipsed the best from Race 1, set by Comtoyou Team Audi Sport’s Frédéric Vervisch.

In Race 3, SLR VW Motorsport’s Mehdi Bennani set the fastest lap, but his time of 1m47.880s wasn’t enough to claim the TAG Heuer Best Lap Trophy from Leuchter, whose Race 2 podium was also the first for a Volkswagen driver this year. His team-mate and FIA World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson finished behind him in third to make it a double podium for the squad.
