Tiago Monteiro is returning to the site of his touring car debut when he contests the latest rounds of the all-action WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO at Zandvoort from 17-19 May.

Monteiro first drove a touring car at the Dutch seaside track in 2007, scoring a fourth and a ninth-place finish in what was then the country’s rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

“Zandvoort is one of the most important circuits in my career as it’s where I made my touring car debut 12 years ago,” said the Portuguese ace, part of the Honda-powered KCMG line-up. “But while I did get a pole position there in TCR Benelux, I really haven’t raced there that often in a front-wheel-drive machine.

“The Honda does have a strong record there, which is good news for us coming off the back of two weekends where we haven’t achieved what we wanted, but everybody’s working hard to make sure we’re back on form this time.”
