BORDEAUX ENTER DEBUCHY RACE: French side Bordeaux might be the new front-runners for Mathieu Debuchy, if the media over there are to be believed. Arsene Wenger has already confirmed Arsenal are willing to cut a deal.

IMBULA NEWS! Reports now that Stoke have agreed a fee for Giannelli Imbula, believed to be around £18m. Could well end up being comfortably the biggest deadline day deal, if it goes through.

DONE DEAL: Like buses, Spurs have let another central defender go - this time Federico Fazio back to Sevilla (as expected).
12:30
DONE DEAL: Ex-Spurs defender Milos Veljkovic has joined Werder Bremen on a permanent deal, although the German club will perhaps need a bit of time to learn how to spell his name...

GARDE FEARS ENDING DAY EMPTY-HANDED: It does not sound like it will be a triumphant deadline day at Villa Park, with manager Remi Garde suggesting the club have missed out on targets Seydou Doumbia, Lovre Kalinic and Mathieu Debuchy in part because of finances.
I’m not happy about this situation. I am not stupid saying we need nobody. Probably the club realised mistakes has been made in the past, probably they didn’t want to do it again.

BERAHINO UPDATE: Saido Berahino has apparently already left West Brom's training ground today, but the club say it is because of a knock he picked up at the weekend - nothing more. If he is injured, would that affect any theoretical medical elsewhere anyway?

MIDDAY UPDATE
So here is where we stand at the minute, with a bit less than 11 hours until the window closes in England.

- Everton completing final details on £13.5m deal for striker Oumar Niasse
- Jordan Rhodes to Middlesbrough could be back on
- Abdoulaye Doucoure to Watford in £8m deal set to be confirmed
- Giannelli Imbula has missed training at Porto amid reports of a move to Stoke.
- Mathieu Debuchy could be going on loan to Sunderland ... or Man United.

CARDIFF SIGN SECOND PLAYER: Cardiff, currently banned from signing players for a fee, are now the busiest side on transfer deadline day....

DONE DEAL: One for the future at Carrow Road...

REDS SNUB SINCLAIR OFFER: Watford are dangling £3m in front of Liverpool for striker Jerome Sinclair, but Liverpool do not want to sell as they apparently 'want to use the youngster as a makeweight in another deal'. Another deal! But who are they hoping to sign with the help of the 18-year-old?
11:45
IMBULA UPDATE: Informed reports in Portugal say that Giannelli Imbula has missed training at Porto today. Not being ill or otherwise engaged, they seem to believe that means a transfer could well be in the offing for the midfielder - Stoke have been strongly linked for much of the month.
11:40
WATFORD TO CLINCH DOUCOURE DEAL: He is expected to be loaned straight out, but Watford look poised to break their transfer record and sign Rennes midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure for around £8m.

UNITED IN FOR ... DEBUCHY?! It might seem a convenient rumour (United need full-back cover, Arsenal are willing to offload the Frenchman) but the Daily Mail are claiming that Manchester United will approach the Gunners over 'the new Mikael Silvestre', Mathieu Debuchy. That deal would surely thrill both sets of supporters...
11:25
ROBINHO WANTS PL RETURN: Hardly a success the first time around, rumours abound that Robinho wants back in the Premier League - with representatives tapping up Swansea and Leicester about their interest. The Foxes might have some wage bill to play with - Hamburg apparently want midfielder Gokhan Inler on loan.
11:15
DONE DEAL: Newcastle have signed forward Seydou Doumbia on loan from Roma, assuming he passes a medical etc. etc. etc. A big move! An actual big deal done! But does that mean no Berahino on Tyneside today?

DEBUCHY TO SUNDERLAND: That's the latest word, with Aston Villa apparently having pulled out of a loan deal for the full-back. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said today that he is willing to let Debuchy go, but isn't sure that striking a (temporary) deal will be possible...

DONE DEAL: 'From Trabzonspor to Bologna for no fee - the Kevin Constant story'...
