A round-up of the top ten here in Estoril: 1. Lorenzo, 2. Rossi, 3. Dovizioso, 4. Simoncelli, 5. Hayden, 6. De Puniet, 7. Edwards, 8. Pedrosa, 9. Melandri, 10. Barbera.

Lorenzo takes victory! Rossi crosses the line for second place that will take him above Stoner in the championship, Dovizioso is battling to hold onto third, but Simoncelli has got back past him, they come through the final turn....Dovizioso gets right into Simoncelli's slipstream...and comes through to take third just ahead of the finish line! Great move from Dovizioso!!

We go into the final lap with Lorenzo sailing towards victory, Rossi in second, and a real battle for third going on between Dovizioso, Simoncelli and Hayden!!

Hayden is now right on the tail of Dovizioso with two laps to go, and we could have a three-way fight for the final podium position as the pair look to overtake Simoncelli...AND INDEED DOVIZIOSO GOES PAST HIS COMPATRIOT TO GO THIRD!

It seems like Rossi has settled for second place. That will, at least, close the gap in the championship to Pedrosa, though Lorenzo is enjoying an incredible season, and continues to go from strength to strength.

Nicky Hayden is staging something of a revival, and he's closing the gap down to Simoncelli and Dovizioso, perhaps profiting from the pair's rather entertaining scrap for third.

With five laps to go Lorenzo is 3.964 clear of Rossi, and Simoncelli now takes back that third place from Dovizioso with a bold move that almost say them clash!!

Dovizioso has managed to hold off another challenge from Simoncelli to take back third place at the end of the home straight, while Hayden is managing to hold onto fifth ahead of De Puniet.

1'37.9 was Lorenzo's fastest lap, still a second down on his own lap record here. Edwards tries to pass Hayden into fifth, but can't make it, is forced wide, and then falls back to eighth! A real blow for the Texas Tornado.

Eight laps to go and Dovizioso makes a move on Simoncelli on turn one...AND GOES THROUGH! Dovizioso up to third now, while Lorenzo continues to streak away, building his lead over Rossi to 1.9 seconds.

Lorenzo is pulling clear of Rossi. The gap is 1.308 seconds between the two, though Simoncelli, currently lying third, is a huge 17 seconds behind Lorenzo out front.

Now Dovizioso comes up the inside of Hayden on the final turn of lap 18, and Hayden is going backwards on his Ducati. He'll soon be under pressure from De Puniet.

Simoncelli leads Hayden followed by Pedrosa and Dovizioso in the race for third. Simoncelli came past Hayden beautifully on turn three there.

Lorenzo goes up the inside of Rossi on the home straight...AND TAKES THE LEAD! Can Rossi take it back on the entrance to the next turn...NO, he's too far behind. Lorenzo set another fastest lap in going past Rossi there - 1'38.124.

We're just over the halfway point in the race to far, and it's a two-man fight between Lorenzo and Rossi for victory. Hayden leads the pack chasing third place, who are now 11.520 seconds down on the lead duo.

Carlos Checa comes into the pits with a mechanical issue, and his race is over. Meanwhile, Lorenzo has closed the gap to Rossi to under 0.2 seconds after another fastest lap of 1'38.310!

Lorenzo is putting together some very quick laps now, including the last one which was the fastest of the race so far at 1'38.526. He has closed a good portion of the gap to Rossi, and will soon be on the rear wheel of the Italian.

Dovizioso almost comes off as his bike finds a little more grip than he expected, and he will lose a couple of seconds and positions there.

The real battle now taking place is the one for fourth position, with Dovizioso, Pedrosa and De Puniet all looking for a way past Simoncelli.

Rossi's lead is 1.6 seconds over Lorenzo, with Hayden 3.8 seconds back, and Dovizioso a further 3.3 seconds back. Not much movement in terms of positions at this stage of the race, though Pedrosa is looking for a way past his team-mate Andrea Dovizioso.

Simoncelli is the quickest man on the track right now, but he's still a full 8 seconds back from Rossi.

A round-up of the top 8 after 8 laps: 1 Rossi, 2 Lorenzo, 3 Hayden, 4 Simoncelli, 5 Dovizioso, 6 Pedrosa 7 De Puniet, 8 Edwards.

Rossi now has a 1.6 second lead over Lorenzo, who in turn is 1.5 seconds clear of Nicky Hayden. It's then three seconds back to Marco Simoncelli, who has made it past Andrea Dovizioso.

Lorenzo closed a little on that last lap. 0.722 is the split, and the pair are moving clear of the rest of the field, headed by Nicky Hayden.

Stoner's down!!! He's fine, though the bike is not, and his race is over!!! His rear wheel gave way on turn 13, pretty much in the same place where he crashed on Friday. Meanwhile, Rossi is gradually extending his lead over Lorenzo.

Rossi takes a wide line, then comes up the inside of Lorenzo to take the lead!!! Stoner still holds third from hayden in fourth and Dovizioso in fifth. Rossi set the fastest lap on the last lap, 1'39.006.

Lorenzo is back out in front again, with Rossi in second after the Italian makes it past Hayden, and Rossi is hot on Lorenzo's tail as they pass the start-finish line, and Stoner passes Hayden to take third.

Hayden, who has gone for a softer front tyre, comes past Lorenzo and into the lead at the start of the second lap!!! Lorenzo comes right back at him on the start-finish straight though, with Rossi and Stoner in third and fourth.

Aleix Espargaro comes off at turn nine, and his race is over. Lorenzo has a half second lead ahead of Hayden in second, who has made it past Dovizioso at the end of the first lap.

The lights go green here in Estoril and we're underway in this 28-lap race!!! Suoperb start from Lorenzo! Hayden was away slowly, but he makes a decent recovery, though it's Dovizioso who really made ground, jumping from seventh right up to second. Lorenzo, though, is powering away!

The riders set off on their practice lap, and Ben Spies has fallen. He looks like he's hurt his leg, and is being stretchered away. A real shame for the American, who was so impressive (fourth) in practice this morning.

Rossi was quickest in the warm up session this morning, posting a lap-time of 1'48.363, ahead of Stoner (1'48.694) and Lorenzo (1'49.221).

Yesterday's cancellation meant that the grid positions for today's race were based on combined practice times, so championship leader Jorge Lorenzo is on pole for the seventh time this season, with Nicky Hayden on second, and Valentino Rossi completing the front row. Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner, second and third in the championship respectively, start from 12th and fourth positions.

Well, racing conditions here at Estoril are a lot better than they were yesterday, when qualification was cancelled. The track is pretty much totally dry now, and the sun is peeking through between the clouds. However, the wind will provide a real challenge, with gusts of 40-60km/h blowing across the track.
